Jakarta, 21 November 2019. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named DSG (private sector) as a suspect in the case related to land purchase for open green space by the government of Bandung City in 2012.

DSG was accused of earning undeserved income of about Rp30 billion by purchasing lands from a number of parties in Bandung where the prices were set lower than local taxable value of property (NJOP). He then sold the lands to the city government. The lands have allegedly been preconditioned to be obtained for the green space to benefit several parties.

DSG was charged with Article 2 (1) or Article 3 of Law No. 31/1999 as amended by Law No. 20/2001 on Corruption Crime Eradication juncto Article 55 (1)-1 of the Criminal Code.

KPK has received the results of the investigative audit by the Supreme Audit Agency on the state financial losses inflicted by the case. The Commission is highly concerned with how the effort to expand green spaces to improve the air and environmental conditions in Bandung has led to corruption. The government ended up spending 60 percent more than the real value of the project.

The state is estimated to lose about Rp69 billion out of the budget realization of Rp115 billion. The middlemen in this alleged crime are members of the legislative council and private sector. The margin of the land cost was allegedly distributed to several parties, including to bribe a judge.
