South Korea’s Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) and Attorney General’s Office meet with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today (4/7), in KPK’s bid to synergize with various parties, including bilateral ones.

KPK and ACRC have previously signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in 2006, which was later amended on 16 May 2016 in Seoul. Today, KPK and ACRC reunited to strengthen the commitment in another MoU signed by KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo and ACRC Deputy Chairman Geon-lee.

Representing the Attorney General’s Office was Hyerin Kim, a senior investigator who will share the experience of South Korea’s law enforcers in recovering state assets. It will be followed by a press conference at Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, where the two institutions announce the cooperation.

To strengthen collaboration and information exchange, the entire KPK employees are invited to discuss with ACRC on corruption eradication effort in South Korea. The ACRC team will then tour the Merah Putih Building and study more on KPK’s corruption eradication strategies.

The cooperation is crucial to be strengthened and advanced. South Korea is among the success stories in corruption eradication efforts, through the improvement of systems in public and private sectors. It is expected that the cooperation will bring huge benefits for both institutions.
