"We invite KPK to participate in joint supervision regarding Certain Types of BBM (JBT) or subsidized BBM (diesel and kerosene), Special Assignment BBM (premium), as well as General BBM or Non-subsidized BBM," said the Head BPH Migas, M. Fanshurullah Asa.

This was conveyed by Asa during a visit to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), in KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta on Monday (9/3). He hopes that the synergy and cooperation that has been developed between BPH Migas and KPK can be further increased.

Meanwhile, KPK Commissioner Firli Bahuri said that there are still a lot of misuse of subsidized fuel, so it is not on target, and this certainly can be detrimental to the country's finances. Specifically, Firli asked Wawan Wardiana, KPK’s Director of Research and Development to conduct a more in-depth study regarding the misuse of subsidized BBM so that its effects on state and public finances can be revealed.

What Asa meant by joint supervision is namely the supervision of volume verification, fee reconciliation, and field sampling on 135 Business Entities with BBM commerce permit as well as 35 Business Entities with commerce/transportation permits of natural gas through pipelines.

“We invite KPK to participate in monitoring and in taking action, if necessary, business entities that are not compliant in paying their dues or showing an indication of improper reporting," said Asa.

Asa also hopes that KPK can provide disseminate information and assistance in understanding anti-corruption and preventing corruption to the employees of BPH Migas and Downstream Oil and Gas Business Entity.

Furthermore, he explained that as an effort to ensure the proper use of subsidized fuel, currently PT. Pertamina in cooperation with PT. Telkom will apply nozzle digitalization in 5,518 gas stations throughout Indonesia. IT Nozzle will record the vehicle police number before filling up the fuel. He believes that this is the most effective way to deal with subsidized fuel irregularities.

"We ask KPK to oversee the digitalization of the nozzle in accordance with the commitment of PT. Pertamina and PT. Telkom to finish it at the end of June 2020, "said Asa.

On that occasion, Firli proposed several solutions, including making regulations related to the Commercial System of Subsidized and Non-Subsidized BBM, applying the maximum use of IT Nozzle, accelerating the revision of Presidential Decree No. 191 of 2014, and building industry-specific gas stations if needed based on the results of the study.

During the visit, Asa and the BPH Migas Committee were received by five KPK Commissioners Firli Bahuri, Alexander Marwata, Lili Pintauli Siregar, Nawawi Pomolango, and Nurul Ghufron.
