KPK received the Award for Archives Supervision for the year 2019 with the category “satisfactory” today (26/2) in Surakarta, Central Java.

This award was given by the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Tjahjo Kumolo, to the Secretary-General of the KPK, Cahya H. Harefa. There were 103 government agencies receiving awards related to national archives in the National Coordination Meeting for Archives Supervision held from 25 to 28 February 2020.

The award is the assessment result of archives supervision in 2019 towards government agencies, which includes ministries, provincial government institutions, and regency/city governments. This is one of the attempts to assess the implementation of archiving standards.

Secretary-General of the KPK Cahya H. Harefa stated that the governance of the institution’s archives shows the accountability of the institution’s performance. He mentioned that the management of archives will continue to be improved, bearing in mind the many institutional tasks of KPK that are highly dependent on archives management. “In regards to only prosecution, KPK has to safely manage its archives. Not to mention other tasks,” he added.

According to him, without good archives and data management, it is impossible to achieve satisfactory accountability of the institution’s performance.

Acting Head of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI), M. Taufik, said that all public institutions in the country face big challenges ahead of them, and ANRI will oversee and encourage new concepts so that these institutions can manage their archives to produce information that can fulfil the needs of various stakeholders.
