The Deputy Commissioner of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Lili Pintauli Siregar met with 39 finalists of Puteri Indonesia beauty pageant on Tuesday (3/3) at Gedung Merah Putih KPK, Jakarta. Lili gave a briefing on the values of integrity and anti-corruption behavior. She believed that the beauty pageant finalists could take the role of the agent of change in the society.

Lili stated that whoever comes out as the winner of the national beauty pageant should be able to serve as an agent of change and to spread the values of integrity.

In the same occasion, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged the finalists to play an active role in the corruption eradication efforts. According to her, the finalists, who came from different regions across the country, could participate in the “I Am a Woman Against Corruption” (SPAK) movement.

“If you want to be an agent of change, please join the SPAK movement. This movement has been carried out in different regions (across the country), and they synergize with each other.”

In line with Lili, the Director of Education and Public Service of KPK Giri Suprapdiono also conveyed his hope that the finalists of Puteri Indonesia could be involved in the SPAK movement.

“It is our hope that Puteri Indonesia can support the SPAK program, for the SPAK movement is a movement that actively involves women.”

At the meeting, the finalists were given an explanation on the crime of corruption, starting from the definition of corruption to the role that could be taken by women in combating the crime. In addition to the 39 finalists, the event was also attended by the President Director of PT. Mustika Ratu, Egidius Situmorang and the 2019 Puteri Indonesia, Frederika Alexis Cull.
